Sooooo, if I was one of those really good mamas who are adopting, I could tell you exactly how long it was since we first started this crazy long process or how long we’ve been waiting, but, you know me too well. And anyway, none of that matters right now because we are GOING TO KOREA NEXT WEEK!!!!!!! Yahoooo!!! Yippee!!! Aahhhh!!! (picture me running around in a crazy circle right now, not gracefully, either) Next week! Next week! We’ll be leaving over the weekend and staying for about 9 days. FINALLY! I’ve waited so well, though.
We’ll keep you posted.
I would like to add that Caleb is so excited about visiting another country and trying new food, riding the subway….. while Jacob is concerned because he’ll miss Halloween. Because “I want candy AND to go get her!” LOVE them both.
Guess what!? We have a court date!! Yippeeee! We’ll go to Korea for court on September 25th, then back to Korea in October to bring her home!
We are soooo excited! The boys are extra excited that they will miss some school in October, too! It’s the little things.
We were submitted to court! Now we just wait for the dates to be set…progress, progress!
It usually takes a few weeks to hear back, so we’ll wait “patiently”!:)
This is who we’re waiting on!:):)
EP approval, y’all!! Woohoo!!!!!
What does that mean? She can leave Korea for the USA! Now, we wait on travel dates. But TODAY, we are celebrating! We’re on opposite sides of the world, but still celebrating!
What? Did you ask if we were still fundraising? Why yes! Yes, we are! You can buy your coffee and support our adoption. And, they have cute tees, too!
You can also order a tee from us for 20 buckaroos and shop through our She Does Justice link.
If you order a shirt or want to donate, you can give through Brittany’s Hope who will match us up to $1500. You just donate to the “special needs grant” and type in our name. Easy.
Remember when I said we had to take 2 trips to Korea now? Yeah. That’s why.
Our summer has been pretty lowkey. Sean is teaching Caleb and Jacob to play racquetball. A little swimming, lots of Connect 4 and UNO.
That’s all I’ve got for now, folks!!
Tomorrow will be 4 weeks since her EP was submitted and we are
patiently waiting for the approval!! Tomorrow would be nice…or today- let me go check my email…
This was our writing prompt this week.
We’ve been walking the path of God-sized dreams together for a few months now. Will you share an update with us about your dream? Let us know where you are with it–the happy and the hard.
Where am I? I’m smack in the middle of a huge part of my dream…..completing our adoption. It’s exciting and exhausting. But I’m also appreciating the parts that have led up to this point of my life, reminded of people and places and situations that have pointed me to here. Life is always ebbing and flowing…always changing. Growing. Not staying the same. Not staying in the same place. Not stagnant. That’s my biggest fear. I never want to look back at where I was a year ago and see the same person.
The specifics don’t always matter, but the willingness of my heart to embrace the moment does.
We all have them. What’s yours?
Mondays mean an email from our agency. Sean and I try to outrun each other to check our email. He usually wins. I’m tripping him next week. Today’s email said to expect to make 2 trips to Korea. Still no dates, but we do know people are getting court dates. I’ll keep you posted;)
Only 4 more full days of school, then 2 more 1/2 days! We are excited!
Will someone come plant my garden for me? I have the plants sitting on the back porch. I don’t even have to be home…you can just show up.
Jacob made a pillowcase with all kinds of stuff to know for their standardized test. It’s cute! They’re supposed to sleep on it. He wants to know how he’s supposed to memorize all of this stuff if he’s sleeping on it. Good question, son! Some good ideas go south in the land of autism….
I wish I was at the beach. For about 3 months.
Yeah, nothing new, just waiting. There is a good chance we’ll have to take two trips to Korea. So, our spring travel plans are turning into summer travel plans. But, hey, who doesn’t love Korea in the summer??
Caleb played paintball today and you would have thought he won the lottery. Boys.
Jacob has discovered UNO. It brings back old youth group trip memories. There were some serious UNO marathons on the way to camp! And FYI, I’m still not competitive and Sean is still OVERLY so. Gah!!
Grandma is here this weekend. Thankfully, our flash flood disappeared as quickly as it came and it’s turning into a pretty weekend.
I planted a few things this weekend. I really want my tomatoes to grow! I wish I had a huge garden.
Less than 2 weeks left of school! My nephew, Evan, graduates next weekend. Time flies!! It will be my own babies graduating before I know it.
